Privacy Notice

Privacy at SEO Leicester: what we collect when you contact us or ask for a free SEO audit, why we use it, who helps us process it and the rights you have.

In short

The key points

What we collect

Only what you send us through our forms or by email.

Why we use it

To prepare your audit, reply to you and, if you agree, send tips.

Your rights

Ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

Who we are

SEO Leicester ("we", "us") runs this website and is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us about anything in this notice at [email protected].

SEO Leicester is a remote SEO agency. Our team works from outside the UK, which is why this notice explains international transfers below.

What we collect

Personal data we collect depends on how you contact us:

  • Free SEO audit and contact forms: your website address, name, email, and optionally your phone number, business type, main goal and message.
  • Call booking requests: your name, email, preferred day and time, call topic and any notes you add.
  • Emails and calls: what you choose to share with us.
  • Technical data: the page you sent the form from, the referring page, the time of the request and a security check result from Cloudflare Turnstile.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, special category data such as health information.

How we use it

Personal data from our forms is used to:

  • prepare and send the free SEO audit you asked for;
  • reply to your questions and arrange calls you request;
  • send one follow-up email about the audit;
  • send occasional SEO tips, only if you tick the box to agree;
  • keep our website and forms secure and free from spam.

Our lawful bases

UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for each use of personal data. We rely on:

  • steps at your request before a contract, when you ask for an audit, a call or a quote;
  • legitimate interests, for one follow-up email, security checks and keeping records of enquiries;
  • consent, for marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time using the link in each email.

Who helps us process your data

Service providers process data for us under contract and only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare: website hosting, security checks (Turnstile) and cookieless analytics;
  • Make.com: moving form submissions into our records and sending emails;
  • Google: Google Sheets for enquiry records and Gmail for reading and replying to email;
  • DomaiNesia: hosting for our email mailboxes;
  • Cal.com: booking video calls, if you book one.

We never sell your data or share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

International transfers

Personal data you send us may be accessed by our team outside the UK and processed by providers in other countries. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the safeguards our providers offer, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Enquiry records for people who do not become clients are kept for 24 months and then deleted. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and then for the time needed for tax and legal reasons. Marketing consent records are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

UK data protection law gives you the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your data;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw consent for marketing at any time;
  • ask for your data in a portable format.

Email [email protected] to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

Concerns about how we use your data can be raised with us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
